Digital Mono-Static Microwave Detector for External Applications
The ARMIDOR is a volumetric microwave detector, operating on the Doppler principle,
with both TX and RX units combined into one head. It does not need any particular site
preparation and can be installed to create a protection field of 90° in the horizontal
plane and 20° in the vertical plane. This "curtain" of protection can be adjusted from
4m to 20m. The ARMIDOR is a revolutionary product, designed to detect movement in external
situations and is particularly suitable for areas where other types of external detectors
cannot be used or do not give full coverage. This is the ideal detector for protecting
areas such as balconies, rooftops, surrounding buildings, etc. An optional software package,
ARMITEST, is available, which provides for remote monitoring and calibration of the detector.
Optional Software
The ARMITEST, software can be used to monitor an ARMIDOR device connected locally to a PC,
or up to 96 devices connected remotely via an RS485 port. The 256 events memory can be down
loaded as test files, whilst the analogue event memory can be displayed to show the signal
shapes recorded by each device together with analogue values that are used to set operating
parameters and functions.

Shower Type: Installed looking straight down this provides detection from
the wall outwards. It is ideal for protecting the area under a canopy,
the entrance to a doorway, or the external elevation of a building.
|
 |
Curtain Type: With a 90° angle on the vertical plane and a 20°
angle on the horizontal plane, this is ideal for protecting balconies,
terraces or areas surrounding temporary scaffolding.
|
 |
Classic Type: Used to cover dead zones at the extremities of MW
barrier systems where cross- overs and overlaps cannot normally be achieved.

Fuzzy Logic Digital Analysis: The digital signal analysis is based on Fuzzy Logic
behavior models for detection of longitudinal and transverse movements, with uniform
sensitivity to both. In addition, ARMIDOR incorporates a digital filter to eliminate
noise due to environmental conditions such as falling rain.
|
 |
Digital Range Setting: It is possible to adjust both the range of the detector
(from 4m to 20m), and the pattern of the detection field. This can be accomplished through
three different means: from within the detector, by using the WT95 test/calibration meter,
and by means of the software (via a remote PC). Internal LEDs indicate the desired range
settings and the numeric values can be displayed on a remote PC.
|
 |
Environmental Automatic Stabilization: The environmental temperature is continuously
checked in order to detect possible faults and to compensate for signal differences due to
changes in the temperature gradient.
|
 |
Multi-Directional Sensitive Antenna: The ARMIDOR antenna has been designed to
be equally sensitive to longitudinal and transverse movements, which is unusual in
detectors operating on the Doppler principal.
|
 |
Dynamic Digital Anti-Masking: Another ARMIDOR standard feature is the anti-masking
capability, which will detect deliberate or accidental covering of the unit that might
result in no detections
|
 |
Microprocessor: The on-board microprocessor is managed by a software program,
which is the result of 25 years of continuous development and experience in the field
of MW detection.
